Gehry får Biennalpris

La Biennale di Venezia utannonserade i eftermiddags att Frank Gehry (79 år) kommer att tilldelas Biennalens guldlejon för sitt livsverk - "Frank Gehry has transformed modern architecture”; skriver Aaron Betsky i sin motivation, och fortsätter: “He has liberated it from the confines of the ‘box’ and the constraints of common building practices. As experimental as the art practices that have been his inspiration, Frank Gehry’s architecture is the very modern model for an architecture beyond building”. De andra priserna offentliggörs senare i höst, när Biennalen öppnar.
